One week from today I shall begin my journey to a new land. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to immerse myself into a beautiful country and to learn how to see the world in a completely new way with a language that I am just beginning to learn about. This city will give me a new kind of freedom. La libertad de Oviedo.
I am very nervous to meet my host family, however. As I said before, I am only beginning to learn Spanish and that is all they will speak. I want to and will be speaking with them often, but I don’t have mush to say. I hope that I will learn quickly. So I don’t just ask “¿Qué hora es?”
Hopefully, when I leave Spain I will have a much broader grasp of the language. A lot of great memories, and a new pair of glasses to see the world. No matter what the adventure begins, and the Spanish starts…AHORA!
